Beavers Drop Rubber Match At Sac City

BEAVERS DROP RUBBER MATCH AT SAC CITY

In a game that was sloppy from the beginning for both teams, Sacramento City managed to right the ship a little sooner that ARC could on Saturday as the Beavers fell to the Panthers 14-6.  Both teams pitching staffs’ walked more batters than in the first two games combined and some sloppy defense contributed to runs being scored early and often.  The Beavers got down early, surrendering a run in the first and two in the second, but the offense came to the rescue with a pair of runs in the 3rd and four runs in the 4th to take a 6-4 lead.  Starting pitcher Blake Yuyama (Kennedy0 could not put a zero on the board though as he allowed one more in the 4th and 2 in the 5th to give the Panthers a 7-6 lead.  After sophomore LHP Hunter Cabral (Portola) held Sac City scoreless in the 6th, he, freshman Kyle Ablog (Casa Roble) and Nick Rosemont (Inderkum) combined to allow 7 runs in the 7th inning to give the Panthers an insurmountable lead.  Arc had at least one baserunner in every inning and sophomore 1B Bryce Sidler (Oakmont) was 2x4 on the day with an RBI.

The Beavers will face fellow Los Rios District school Folsom Lake College this week beginning Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Folsom Lake.
