Citrus College had a strong second quarter but couldn't overcome Glendale Community College Friday night in its final game of the season, suffering a 71-46 defeat.
The Fighting Owls finish the year 3-25, 0-14 in the Western State Conference, while the Vaqueros move to 26-2 overall and 13-1 in conference with their fifth-straight victory.
Two Owls finished the night in double-figures, led by Malia (Rocha) Ili's 17 points (7-for-15). Julie Garcia Man added 14 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for a double double. Kaylene Brown also snagged double-digit boards, finishing with 11 rebounds to help Citrus win the glass 37-to-34.
Citrus put up a battle in the second quarter, just losing the frame by one point (16-15). Ili and Man combined for 13 of the Owls' 15 points, with Jailene Rosas also getting in on the scoring action.
