The Moorpark College women's basketball team saw its great season come to a close when it lost Sierra College 83-53 in the CCCAA Elite Eight of the state tournament at West Hills Lemoore College Thursday night.

The Raiders shot just 29% from the field, while Sierra shot 49%. Ten of Moorpark's 16 made field goals came from beyond the arc. The Raiders lost the turnover battle 19-10 and were out-rebounded 41-32. Sierra had 24 points off turnovers and outscored Moorpark 38-10 in the painted area.

Ashley Orozco, who was named to the CCCAA All-State First Team, finished the game with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Kayden Mew was the only other Raider in double figures with 12 points. Gianna Falacocchia had nine points off the bench in 21 minutes.

The Raiders finish the season 24-4 overall and were co-champions of the Western State Conference's North Division.
