Softball Drops Doubleheader to Fullerton and Pasadena

Bakersfield, CA – The Renegade Baseball team hosted both Fullerton College and Pasadena City College at the Dean and Adah Gay Sports Complex on Saturday and came away with losses to both teams, 11-2 and 11-1, respectively.  

In the first game the Hornets put runs on the board early that BC wasn't able to respond back to. The final two innings the Hornets piled on six more runs to run away with the win. The Renegades were held to six hits compared to 13 for Fullerton. Natilee Parrish took the loss for BC. She allowed nine hits and eight runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three.

In the second game, the Lancers were able to go up big quickly, taking a 6-1 lead after only two innings. Pasadena added five more runs in the sixth to end the game due to run rule. The Renegades only managed three hits compared to 14 for the Lancers. Trinity Ybarra took the loss for BC. She lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing seven hits and six runs. Sydney Barnes finished the final four and one-thirds inning with two strikeouts and seven hits allowed.

They now drop to 9-9 on the season and will next play LA Mission at home this coming Monday, March 9th at 6pm in a game that was originally schedule for Tuesday March 10th but was changed due to impending weather. The game will be streamed live on Facebook, search 'Bakersfield College Athletics'.
