COD Baseball rallies in the seventh, for sweep of the Seahawks, 8-3

COD (2-0) used a six-run seventh inning to rally from behind to sweep the Los Angeles Harbor Seahawks of Wilmington (0-2), 8-3.

Sophomore left handed starting pitcher Michael-Alan Stanford (Westlake Village) worked his way into and out of trouble, tossing 7 strike outs over 7 innings for his first win of the season. Today's seven strike outs, is the second highest strike out count for Stanford in his career at Desert. Sophomore designated hitter Spencer Dickinson (Rancho Mirage H.S.), clobbered his first home run of the season, taking a ball deep in the seventh to tie the game. Dickinson would go 2 for 4 on the day with 3 RBI's. Sophomore third baseman Braden Schiffner (Littleton, Colorado) went 3 for 5 with a run scored and a run batted in out of the 9 hole in the lineup, in the win.

The next contest for Desert is on Tuesday, January 31st at 1p hosting the Compton Tartars.
