Mounties win sixth straight with win at El Camino

(Torrance, CA) Mt. SAC (12-4, 6-2) won its sixth straight with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-20) win over host El Camino (7-11, 5-3) on Wednesday to remain in second place in the South Coast Conference standings. The Mounties sit two games behind Pasadena (13-1, 8-0) and half a game ahead of Long Beach (8-6, 6-3).

JJ Quarrels tallied 13 kills and 12 digs for Mt. SAC, as teammate Riley DeGroot added 12 kills and 10 digs. Riannel Arevalo led the team in digs with 14, while Diana Pelcastre had 10. DeGroot and Pelcastre also led the Mounties with a pair of service aces each.

Next up, Mt. SAC will host Compton (0-7, 0-5) in an SCC contest on Friday, Oct. 15, at 6 p.m.
