After falling 2-0 to City College of San Francisco at Mission College in the first game of Thursday's Coast Conference-opening twin bill, West Valley bats awoke to lift the Vikings to a 5-2 game two win. The Vikings (9-12, 1-1 Coast-North) banged out nine hits, including a pair of doubles and two triples, in the afternoon contest.

James Bose, Ryan Lordier, Jacob Serpa and Tristan Silveira all went 2-4 in game two, to back WVC starter Dillon Haftorson, who struck out four and scattered four hits in six innings of work to earn the win.

Serpa gave West Valley a 2-1 lead with the first of two doubles, driving in Lordier and Bose. Lordier made it 3-1 in the seventh, knocking in Bose with a triple and then Serpa provided an insurance run with a double that scored Lordier.

The Vikings complete the season-opening series with CCSF (8-10, 1-1) Saturday at San Francisco St. University. First pitch is at noon.
