Pirates improve to 13-0 with shutout win over Cypress
COSTA MESA -- The Orange Coast College women's tennis team continues its unbeaten ways with a 9-0 Orange Empire Conference home win against visiting Cypress College on Thursday at the OCC Tennis Complex.
OCC (13-0, 4-0 in the OEC) was a perfect 12-of-12 in singles sets, with wins coming from Logan Koitka (6-2, 6-2), Camila Nelson (6-4, 7-6), Madeleine Veltri (6-0, 6-0), Sedona Smith (6-0, 6-0), Olivia Sipiora (6-1, 6-0) and Leanne Pascua (6-0, 6-0).
It was smooth sailing for the Pirates in doubles action, with wins coming from Koitka/Veltri (8-0), Smith/Sipora (8-1) and Diana Vu/Raelynn Palmer (8-2).
Coast will play at Saddleback on Friday (2 p.m.) before returning to the OCC Tennis Complex on Tuesday against Riverside, also at 2 p.m.
