It was hard to imagine Curran Ozawa-Burns topping his 7-8, five-RBI, triple and double opening day against Cañada on April 10. It's also hard to imagine anyone going 4-5 with three homers, a two-run double and nine RBI in a single game. But that's what Ozawa-Burns did Thursday afternoon in leading West Valley to a 12-7 win over Skyline in San Bruno.

The Vikings were down 2-1 in the top of the third when Ozawa-Burns went to work. He clubbed a two-run dinger in the third, another two-run shot in the fifth, both driving in Henry Wright, a three-run blast in the sixth and a two-run double in the eighth. He highlighted a 16-hit Viking offense that included a solo HR from Josiah Granados and a two-run double from Jacob Serpa. Zachary Apostolo finished 3-5 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Alexander Howard was 2-3 and Aran Cox 2-4.

Starter Erik Peterson picked up the win on the mound, giving up five hits and two runs to go along with four K's in five innings of work. Cae Cox had three innings of four-hit, two-run, two-strikeout relief.
