KNIGHTS SWEPT ON ROAD BY FEATHER RIVER COLLEGE

REDDING, Calif. – Shasta College's softball team lost a road doubleheader to Feather River College on Saturday, falling 9-1 in five innings and 8-0 in six innings.

In the first game, the Knights allowed an eight-run second inning to allow the Golden Eagles to pull away. Kaylie McDaniel took the loss in the circle, giving up six earned runs on 10 hits in four innings while striking out two and walking two. Madeline Nightingale was 2 for 3, Autumn Giannini was 1 for 2 with a run and Calley Rupert drove in a run.

In the nightcap, the Knights tallied only one hit from Giannini awhile Madisen Borek drew a walk. McDaniel took the loss, giving up eight runs on 17 hits in five innings and struck out two batters.

Shasta (1-6) plays a doubleheader at Redwoods on Thursday and a doubleheader at College of the Siskiyous Saturday.
