The West Valley men's water polo team jumped out to a 5-0 first period lead and then scored just enough goals the rest of the way to defeat Las Positas 15-8 Wednesday at the West Valley Aquatics Center.

Inigo Gonzalez had three of those first quarter goals on his way to a game-high five. Jake Mendez, after a scoreless opening period, found the back of the net four times, while Daniel Behar and Alexander Swenson netted two each. Xavier Casabella and Tristan Gorham rounded out the Viking scoring with one goal apiece. Alex De La Cruz Gamez and Nathaniel Cazares split goalkeeping duties with a half of action each.
