Compton, Calif. – Sophomore Jose Gutierrez-Silva (0-2) started on the mound for the Tartars, striking out two batters in his two innings of work but the Tartars (1-8, 0-1 SCC) fell to Long Beach City (10-3, 1-0 SCC) 19-1. Gutierrez-Silva also allowed for six hits and seven runs.

Freshman Francisco Guzman went 1 for 2 batting a double and scoring once.

The Tartars continue their series against the Vikings on Thursday February 20 with a 2 p.m. start time at Long Beach City.
