Women's Tennis Earns Second Straight Set Win of the Season, Beats Mt. SAC

It was light work for the Riverside City College women's tennis team on Friday afternoon as they traveled to Walnut, CA to take on the Mt. San Antonio College Mounties in non-conference action. The Tigers had no issues hauling in their second straight-set victory of the season.

The Tigers, who punched in their sixth victory in the month of March, continue to dominate from top to bottom.

Sophomore Torrey Mateljan and freshman Keeley Arendt teamed up as the top dup and worked to an easy 8-1 win. Freshman tandem Samantha Treat and Susana Iniguez teamed up as the number two doubles squad and won 8-2, while the familiar number three pairing of Marvonna Vaxter and Semaj Walter earned an 8-1 win.

All but one singles match ended in two sets or less with Walter and Vaxter winning early after their opponents both suffered an injury. Mateljan worked to an easy 6-2, 6-0 win at the top spot, while Iniguez earned a mirroring result at the sixth position.

Treat came back down one set after falling 1-6, but roared back to a 6-0, 10-4 triumph in the final two sets. Arendt cruised in a 6-0, 6-0 win at the third position.
