OFFENSE SLOWS IN SHASTA'S DH LOSS TO CABRILLO

APTOS, Calif. – Shasta College's softball team was swept in a doubleheader at Cabrillo, losing 5-1 and 3-0.

The Knights collected nine hits across the two games and was shut out for the second time this season.

Cabrillo 5, Shasta 1
The Knights' lone run came in the fifth inning on Sofie Lebow's RBI double to left field, plating Cora Peterson. Shasta had six hits in the game. Khloe Forrister was 2 for 3, Peterson was 2 for 3 with a run and Macey Bunn was 1 for 3 with a double. Whitney Carnes was the losing pitcher, allowing five runs on five hits in the six-inning complete-game. She added five strikeouts and two walks.

Cabrillo 3, Shasta 0
The Knights mustered three hits from three different players and committed two errors. Peterson was 1 for 3 with a double and Riley Horton and Bunn each hit single. Shasta stranded five runners on base. Peterson was the losing pitcher after allowing two earned runs on nine hits and finishing with one walk and one strikeout.

Shasta (2-7) plays a doubleheader at Merced on Friday.
