The West Valley women's soccer team jumped out to a 3-0 halftime lead and then coasted to a 5-0 blanking of Ohlone in the 2019 home opener Thursday in Saratoga. Sara Prough got things started just over four minutes in with a goal off a Milka Perez helper. Lindsey Heen (Abigail Wesendunk assist) made it 2-0 in the 23rd minute and Emiko Kimura (Perez) found the back of the net at 38'. Perez redirected a Wesendunk cross at 79' and Caitlyn Trampenau closed out the scoring with an unassisted score in the 83rd minute. Melody Cervantes and Viviana Reyna Romero combined for the shutout in goal. The Vikings (1-2-1) host perennial SoCal powerhouse Cerritos (1-0) Sunday (9/8) at Dick Schwendinger Field. Kickoff is 11am.
