Fairfield, Calif. - The Solano baseball team routed Contra Costa, 16-3, in the series opener on Tuesday afternoon.

Freshman Zion Judkins was a triple shy of batting for the cycle, belting a home run and counting a double in his 3-for-5 outing with a run and RBI. Freshmen Jaxson Bates and Austin Menesini both tallied three RBI each.

Freshman righty Richard Mealey (1-2) captured his first win of the season, throwing six complete while scattering six hits and fanning eight.

Solano (7-16, 4-3) faces Contra Costa again next on the road on Thursday, Mar. 31 at 2:30 p.m.
