Falcons take two at Mendocino, improve to 4-0

The Falcons took two from Mendocino on Tuesday in Ukiah, winning 8-1 and 10-2 to run their early-season record to 4-0.  In the opener, freshman Angelica Blackmer got the complete-game win, allowing just seven hits and one walk as the Falcons pounded out 14 hits.  Third baseman Haley Busby had four hits while designated hitter Jailene Salceido hit the Falcons' first home run of the season in the third inning, then added a double in the sixth.

In the second game, lefty Kelsey Wurm picked up her second win of the season, allowing four hits and two walks over seven innings.  Jailene Salceido had three hits in the game, including her second home run of the season – and the DAY – in the third inning.  Second baseman Adriana Bridges had three hits and scored three runs, and first baseman Maddy Larson had three hits – including a triple – as well.

The Falcons hope to keep their unblemished record intact when they host Lassen College for a doubleheader on Friday with games at 11:00 am and 1:00 pm.
