CHULA VISTA — The Griffins turned in another sweep, this time over the Jaguars of Southwestern College to run their win streak to six and a perfect three for three in the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.

With Grossmont (8-3, 3-0 PCAC) being ranked number nine in the State and the Jaguars (6-7, 1-3 PCAC) receiving votes in the latest poll, some may think that the Griffins might be looking ahead to Friday's matchup against the Olympians (11-1, 3-0 PCAC) who are the fourth ranked team in the State. But Coach Brooke Callahan would not allow that to happen.

Brooke Miller had three aces and in the words of Coach Callahan "served really well for us tonight."

Kelsey Carter led the way for the Griffins with nine kills and a hitting percentage of .421. Outside Hitter Madi Bogle had 14 kills in the match, while libero Lauren Dumo had 21 digs and a pair of aces. Defensive Specialist Rylee Suggett had 14 digs, many of which came on crucial tips, and dealt a couple of aces in a solid performance.

Grossmont took the first set 25-14.

The Jaguars fought back but lost set two by a 25-23 count.

The Green and Gold took care of business with the third set score of 25-22.

As mentioned above, the Griffins will face San Diego Mesa on Friday at the Griffin Arena at 6:00 p.m. in a battle of California Top 10 teams. Arrive early to secure a seat.
