CYPRESS, CA - The Cypress women's soccer team (16-1-2, 11-1-2 OEC) has advanced to the CCCAA playoffs after taking the OEC crown for the second season in a row. The Chargers will host Round 1 of the Regional Playoffs on Saturday, November 20, against the winner of #14 Santa Monica and #19 El Camino. The Chargers come into the playoffs ranked #3 after a successful 2021 campaign.
The last match between Cypress and El Camino was back in 2003 which resulted in a Charger victory, 5-0. The Chargers last faced Santa Monica College in 2008 where they came out victorious with 1-0 win. Cypress is undefeated with a combined 8-0 record over both Santa Monica and El Camino. The Chargers are seeking a run at their fourth CCCAA State Title and their first since 2004.
With a win, the Chargers will face the winner between #6 Santiago Canyon and #11 Santa Barbara City in Round 2 of the Southern California Regional on Tuesday, November 23. The full bracket can be found here.
