The 2021 City College of San Francisco women's soccer season came to a crushing close with a 1-0 loss at Hartnell College in Tuesday's Round 2 Northern California Regional Playoff game in Salinas.
The two Coast Conference foes battled to a scoreless first half and appeared on the way to overtime as neither team was able to find the back net late in the game. But No. 2-seeded Hartnell broke through for what proved to be the game-winner in the 85th minute, getting a goal from Belinda Ascencio to dash the hopes of the No. 7-seed Rams.
CCSF closed out another impressive season with a 16-4 overall record under head coach Jeff Wilson. The Rams were co-champions of the Coast Conference South Division with an 8-2 mark and made their 11th consecutive postseason appearance this year.
