Comets sweep Jets for first PCAC win

SAN MARCOS, CA (9/28/2022) -- The Palomar Comets snapped a three-game losing streak as they defeated San Diego Miramar College 3-0 on Wednesday night in the Dome.

Palomar jumped out to an early lead and took set one 25-13, with a repeat score in set two of 25-13. The Jets showed fight in set three, but the Comets took the set 25-22 to win the match.

Freshman Savanna Lewis finished the night with nine kills, while freshman Holland Hancock finished with seven and eight digs. Sophomore Rachael Cooke pitched in with five. Sophomore setter Kenna Broach recorded 26 assists and four aces.

The Comets move to 5-5 overall and 1-3 in PCAC play. They will be home on Friday to face Imperial Valley College for a 5 p.m. first serve.
