Women’s Volleyball Falls to Pasadena

TORRANCE, Calif. --- The El Camino College women's volleyball team dropped its second straight match and eighth in the last nine outings with a 3-1 South Coast Conference loss to Pasadena Friday night at the ECC Gymnasium.

The Warriors (3-10, 1-2) attacked at just a .108 clip while the Lancers (9-1, 4-0) had three players record double figures in kills to get the victory.

Brea Rutledge and Alex Perryman led the way for the Warriors with 10 kills apiece and Saki Yamamoto anchored the defense with 24 digs on the night. Athina Sarreas led the team with five blocks (one solo) while Perryman added four and Ginia Goods chipped in with three.

Jayden Zabala (21) and Nofoali'I Selu (13) dished out 34 assists in the loss.

For the Lancers, Paulina Lopez and Camila Sanchez-Tellez led the way with 13 kills apiece and Verenice Gonzalez added 12.

The Warriors will return to action Wednesday night on the road at Rio Hondo. First serve is set for 6 p.m.
