Men’s Soccer to Host Playoff Game for First Time in College’s History

CYPRESS, CA- Cypress men's soccer (10-5-5, 7-3-2 OEC) will be hosting the Cuyamaca Coyotes (10-2-8, 8-1-3 PCAC) on Wednesday, November 16th for the first round of CCCAA SoCal Regional Playoffs.

The Chargers are entering the playoffs for the third year in a row under Head Coach Cristian Rus. Not only has Rus taken Cypress to the playoffs each of the last three years as coach, he has made history for the college, as it will be the first time that Cypress College hosts a CCCAA men's soccer playoff game. Coach Rus has navigated the program after a 2-18 record in 2018, to lead the Chargers to three consecutive postseason appearances.

The visiting opponent, Cuyamaca College, tied almost half of their matchups with eight draws overall. Both teams excelled in their conference with the Chargers winning seven and the Coyotes winning eight of their conference matchups. Each team ended the regular season with 10 wins and are headed into the postseason coming off of high scoring victories.

Details: Per CCCAA regulations, tickets will be $12 for Adults and $8 for Youth/Students.
