MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: HEARTBREAK LOSS

The Hornets took a punch to the stomach at home Wednesday night losing to Santa Barbara City College 3-2.

It was a non-conference match where Fullerton appeared to be in the driver's seat after winning the first two sets, however the Vaqueros had other plans pulling off a reverse 3-game sweep for the win.

The first set rounded out to be a battle, but the Hornets came out on top 27-25. Fullerton came out firing on all pistons in set two and went up 20-15. Santa Barbara made a run and caught up 24-22, but FC closed the door to win the set 25-22. SBCC got hot and turned the tables on the Hornets to win the next three sets 25-21, 25-21, and 15-10.

Leonardo Mazuco led Fullerton with 14 kills with 5 digs, while David Lucio followed with 13 kills and 7 digs. Noah Lorenco handed out 35 assists, had 10 digs, and 5 kills. Miguel Cortez had 5 kills, 7 digs, and 5 block assists.

Up Next: Fullerton (2-4 overall) will look to get back on track when they host Grossmont College this Friday, February 21st at 6:00 pm.
