City Scored Eight Runs In First Four Innings to Defeat Palomar, 10-5
Palomar put up four runs in top of the first, but the Knights responded with eight runs in the first four innings on their way to a 10-5 home win over the Comets. Gabe Jones went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, his first of the season, and Connor Stewart hit three singles in four at-bats with four runs scored.

Knights' starting pitcher Nolan Kubilus got in some trouble in the 1st inning when he gave up a solo home run and three RBI-singles, but he settled in after that and ended up pitching four innings with eight strikeouts.
City cut Palomar's lead in half with in the bottom of the 1st coming off a Jackson Huntley RBI ground ball with the bases loaded to the shortstop that turned into two runs after an error by the second baseman. THe Knights got within a run after Jones' homer to left field in the bottom of the 2nd.
The Comets added a run in the top of the 3rd, but the Knights came right back in the bottom half of that inning with three runs to take a 6-5 lead. Stewart scored on a wild pitch from third base, then Justin Kerby came home on an error, and Randy Lopez-Acosta hit an RBI-single to left field for the third run of the inning.
Steward scored again in the 4th on a triple by Kerby who then crossed home plate on a Huntley ground ball to give the Knights an 8-5 lead.
Kerby earned his second RBI of the day in the bottom of the 6th with a single to left field that scored C.J. Brown.
City stayed aggressive in the bottom of the 8th and got an insurance run on a pinch-hit RBI-single by Payton Caviar to put the Knights on top, 10-5.
The Knights have started PCAC season with three consecutive wins and improved to 8-6 overall. These two teams will play their second game of the 2-game series at Palomar on Thursday at 2 p.m.
