Playing their third South Coast Conference game in the last four days, the Cerritos College softball team posted a 5-1 win over visiting Pasadena City College on Friday. The Falcons (27-10, 15-4), who have won all three of those games, will host Santiago Canyon College (28-9) in a non-conference game at Nancy Kelly Field at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.

In the second inning, the Falcons scored three times, with Leduc driving in the third run of the innng with her second hit of the game. With Makayla Torres (Sonora HS) on third base and Negasse Williams (Aliso Niguel HS) on second base, freshman shortstop Miranda Diaz (California HS) drove a two-strike pitch into the right-centerfield gap to plate both runners. Cerritos picked up their final run of the game in the third inning when freshman second baseman Alyssa Sotelo (El Rancho HS) led off with a single, stole second base and scored on a double from freshman third baseman Brooklyn Bedolla (Mayfair HS).

Freshman pitcher Samantha Islas (Roosevelt HS) came on in the fifth inning after Pasadena City scored their lone run on a leadoff home run from Marcella Ordonez. Islas picked up her third save of the season when she retired nine of the 10 batters she faced and struck out three batters.
