WALKING THE BLANK

The Hornets welcomed Orange Coast College to the FC campus on Friday afternoon and blanked the Pirates 5-0. 

Both teams came into the game with an OEC record of 2-1 locked in a tie for third place. Grasping the win today, Fullerton now owns an overall record of 9-3 with a conference record of 3-1. The Pirates bump down to 3-7 overall and 2-2 in the OEC. FC now sits in second place in the standings only a game behind Cypress (4-0). 

Fullerton came out swinging the bat early taking a 4-0 in the first inning. Serina Vue hit a hard single through the left side plating Jordan EliasMeah Almaraz reached first on a throwing error giving Vue and Garcia the chance to score. Alendy Aguilar popped a single to the right-side scoring Almaraz.  

The Hornets added one more run in the second inning Alyssa Garcia cranked a single to left field scoring Coco Siono. 

Allyson Fuentes (6-3) had an impressive day in the circle throwing complete 7-inning game allowing only 2 hits. She had 8 strikeouts with 2 walks. 

Up Next: The Hornets (9-3 overall, 2-1 OEC) will host Santa Ana College on Tuesday, March 7th at 2:00 pm for another OEC matchup. This is a makeup game from February 24th that had been rained out.
