SANTA CLARITA – The SBCC softball team was held to one run in its doubleheader at Canyons, falling in both Tuesday games, 6-1 and 10-0.

GAME ONE
The Vaqueros (3-11) took the initial lead in the first game of the day, but were outscored 6-0 down the stretch.

Natalie Depasquale hit a single to left and would advance to second as the Cougars (4-3-1) picked up the second out of the first inning. An error from third base would allow Depasquale to score, putting the Vaqueros up 1-0.

Santa Barbara tallied three hits the rest of the way, all singles from Lauren Indermuehle, Mckinnzie Grossini and Isabella Huckaby.

The Cougars responded in the bottom of the third with three runs on three hits. Two of the runs were unearned as they capitalized on a pair of SBCC errors.

Canyons added another run in the fifth and two more on RBI singles in the sixth to seal the 6-1 win.

GAME TWO
Despite putting up one more hit than in their previous effort, the Vaqueros were shut out for the first time this season in the second game of the day.

The Cougars came out hot, putting up multiple runs in each of the first four innings. They finished with an 11-5 hit advantage, six of which were multi-base hits.
