Baseball Falls in Conference Opener against Yuba

Fairfield, Calif. - The Solano baseball team took an early lead, but fell to Yuba, 14-7, after back-to-back four-run innings on Tuesday afternoon.

Freshmen Dimitri McLen and Austin Menesini both went yard in the game with Menesini finishing the day 2-for-4 at the plate. Freshman Eli De Guzman led all batters with a 3-for-4 performance, while freshman Jaxson Bates counted the team's lone multi-base hit with a triple.

Freshman Richard Mealey (0-2) was charged with the loss, throwing four innings in relief, allowing nine hits and seven earned runs, while fanning five.

Solano (3-14, 0-1) continues the three-game series at Yuba on Thursday, Mar. 17 starting at 2:30 p.m.
