KNIGHTS END SEASON IN FIRST ROUND OF NORCAL REGIONAL PLAYOFFS

APTOS, Calif. – The 11th seeded Shasta College volleyball team was swept by No. 6 Cabrillo College 25-22, 25-13, 25-21 in the First Round of the 2021 CCCAA NorCal Regional Championship on Tuesday.

The Knights (15-10), who finished third in Golden Valley Conference play, had only eight hitting errors compared to Cabrillo's 23 but racked up only a .189 hitting percentage of the match. Sophomore Jennifer Troxclair was the top Shasta hitter with nine kills while Danielle Stroscher racked up six kills on 10 attempts.

Sarah Ault dished 18 assists while Aliyah Rosado-Cruz registered a team-best 12 digs and Jordan Mewhirter added 11 digs.

Shasta finished 17th in the state in hitting percentage (.229), 26th in service aces (197) and 37th in kills (838).

Troxclair led the team with 253 kills, which ranked 32nd in the state, 3.09 kills per set and pitched in with 17 total blocks.

Freshman Presley Hamilton totaled 212 kills on the season to go with 34 aces and 183 digs.

Rosado-Cruz finished ninth in the state in digs with 463 and 10th in digs per set with 5.65. She recorded double-digit digs 22 of her 23 matches.

Sarah Ault led the Knights with 587 assists, which ranked 24th in the state. Her team-high 48 aces ranked 21st in the state and she also added 117 kills.
