WRANGLIN' IN THE RUSTLERS

The Hornet softball squad welcomed Golden West to Fullerton College on Friday and held the Rustlers scoreless at 6-0.

It was a good win for FC over a solid Golden West team (7-9 overall) that was riding a 3-game win streak after stunning Santiago Canyon College (15-4 overall) last Wednesday 5-4. The Rustlers gave Cypress (15-3 overall) a scare last week before losing it in the seventh inning 7-3.

Isabella Najera got the nod in the circle today tossing a complete game giving up only 4 hits. She also had an impressive 11 K's , no runs, and 1 walk.

Fullerton got on the board in the third inning scoring 2 runs on Olivia Nunez's triple to right field scoring Dee Ramirez and Skye Samano.

In the bottom of the fourth FC added 3 more runs. With the bases loaded, Dee Ramirez cracked a base-clearing double to left center plating Skye Samano, Taylar Lannon, and Alaina Guerrero.

The Hornets added an insurance run in the fifth to go up 6-0. In another bases-loaded situation, Bella Morales reached on a fielder's choice giving way for Emily Maldonado to come home from third.

Up Next: Fullerton (11-7-1 overall, 6-3 OEC) will play at the East LA College 3-Way Tournament on Saturday, March 19th. The Ventura College game begins at 2:00 pm, and the game against East LA will be at 4:00 pm.
