Citrus College settled for a split Friday afternoon after blasting Moorpark College 10-0 in five innings but dropping the nightcap 8-3.

The Owls move to 11-10 overall, while the Raiders sit at 2-15 on the year.

Offensively, Citrus finished with 10 hits in the first game, with three Owls grabbing multiple hits in the game. Leah Morales went 3-for-3 with two runs scored, while Jasani Zavalza went 2-for-2 with four RBIs. Alexis Cordero finished 2-for-3 at the plate, scoring three runs and batting in three others.

The Owls wasted little time and scored two runs in their first chance at the plate. With two runners on and one out, Marissa Ramirez knocked a base hit to right to send one run in. The Raiders managed to get the next out, but Zavalza blasted a double to tack on another run, 2-0.

Citrus added three more runs in the third and all but put the game away with five runs in the third. Cordero hit a three-run homer with one out to put the run rule in play, before Zavalza scored two with a single in the gap at right center, 10-0.

Defensively, the Owls kept the Raiders in check and sealed the victory as Ericka Pineda made all three outs in the top of the fifth to end the game early.

In the second game, Moorpark scored first and never looked back en route to an 8-3 victory, out-hitting the Owls 11-to-6.

Citrus next hosts Ventura College on Monday at 1 p.m., weather permitting.
