Citrus College grabbed its second win in three days with a 3-1 victory over Oxnard College Thursday afternoon.

The Owls improve to 2-2 overall while the Condors head home still looking for their first win of the year.

Ryan Luiz Harney won the pitching duel, tossing eight innings without conceding a run and striking out five batters. Diego Cruz picked up his first save of the year with one inning on the mound.

Devon Diaz got things going for Citrus with a leadoff walk in the bottom of the first and came home on a Roberto Moreno double.

After things were quiet for the next few innings, the Owls struck again in the fifth as Matthew Espinoza led off with a base hit to center and Diaz drew another walk. The Condors managed to get the next two outs, but Citrus wasn't done yet. Chad Green stepped up to the plate and laced a base hit to left to send Espinoza home. The Owls then loaded the bases and Cooper McKinney drew ball four, allowing Diaz to score his second run of the day, 3-0.

Oxnard tried to put a rally together in the top of the ninth and managed to put one run on the board, but Citrus ended the inning before the visitors could gain too much momentum.

The Owls are back in action next week as Ventura College comes to town on Tuesday for a 2 p.m. game.
