Softball Edged by Folsom Lake in Home Opening Twinbill

Fairfield, Calif. - Freshman Naiya Watts went 4-for-7 to lead the Falcons at the plate, but the Solano softball team was edged by Folsom Lake, 2-0 and 10-8, on Thursday afternoon in the team's home opener.

Watts counted a double in one of her two hits in the first contest before following up with a RBI in the second game. Freshman Kourtney Patrick joined her with a multi-hit contest in game two. adding a RBI of her own.

Freshman Maleah Martinez (0-3) and Kalia Dondoy (0-3) both made appearances in the circle for the Falcons. Martinez threw the complete first game, allowing six hits and striking out 10 on 34 batters faced. Dondoy made only a one-inning appearance in game two, allowing four earned runs before Martinez finished the game, giving up one earned run and fanning five.

Solano (0-5) remains home, hosting Santa Rosa in a doubleheader next on Tuesday, Feb. 15 beginning at 12 p.m.
