Cats take season series from RCC

The Saddleback beach volleyball team split a double-header on Friday, defeating Riverside City College and falling to Irvine Valley College.  The Bobcats were led by the Brown duo of Constance Brown and Sydney Brown, who won in straight sets to turn back the Tigers.

Saddleback has beaten Riverside City twice this season after a 4-1 victor on Friday.  The Bobcats had a big advantage with RCC only able to field three teams for the match and quickly took advantage of it.

The Bobcats effectively won the team match on court one when Constance Brown (pictured) and Sydney Brown were 22-20, 21-18 winners against Jessica Lepe and Ashley Elias.  Saddleback also picked up a win on court three when Sarah Patin and Sabrina Hernandez won a grueling three set match over Keeley Hober and Hoku Godoy.  The Patin and Hernandez duo fell behind in losing the opening set (19-21) before rallying to win two straight (21-14, 15-12) to win the match.

Saddleback is now 3-10 overall for the season and 3-7 in Orange Empire Conference play.  The Bobcats will compete next in the Orange Empire Conference Pairs Competition, which starts on Wednesday at Irvine Valley College.
