SAN FRANCISCO – City College of San Francisco came out on top in the battle of the Rams.

Facing the Fresno City College Rams on Saturday, the CCSF Rams won the match up by a final score of 24-6 at George M. Rush Stadium.

CCSF started a new winning streak after its string of 16 consecutive victories was snapped last week at Butte.

The defense led the charge, holding Fresno City (1-3) scoreless all the way until midway through the fourth quarter. FCC totaled 211 yards of offense with San Francisco holding Fresno City to just 16 yards rushing.

Tyler Lepolo had another huge game for CCSF. He totaled 11 tackles, including two for loss, was in on a sack, forced and recovered a fumble, and broke up a pass. Jahvius Leui had five tackles with two sacks, part of four by the Rams in the contest.

Shawn Allen led CCSF on offense as he ran for 100 yards on 24 carries with a pair of touchdowns. His 13-yard TD run with 1:13 left in the second quarter sent the Rams into halftime with a 10-0 lead.

The score remained 10-0 all the way until the fourth. CCSF extended its lead to 17-0 at the 11:06 mark in the fourth when quarterback Jeremy Stephens ran in from one yard out to cap an 11-play, 54-yard drive.

Fresno City finally got on the board with 10:16 to play when quarterback Andre Butler connected with Darrien Gaines for a long 71-yard touchdown. FCC missed the PAT kick and CCSF was up 17-6.

But on its ensuing drive, Allen sealed the victory for San Francisco with his second touchdown of the contest, an impressive 23-yard run with 7:42 remaining to close out the scoring.

Joseph Oliveira kicked a 23-yard field goal in the first to give CCSF an early lead.

Stephens threw for 158 yards on 13 of 23 passing. Daelin DeGraffenreid led CCSF receivers with four catches for 69 yards.

CCSF improved to 3-1 with the win. The Rams return to action next Saturday (Oct. 1) when they travel to Sierra College for a 1 p.m. game.
