Forget the traditional doubleheader against one team as the GCC Baseball Team played a two team doubleheader Saturday Feb. 8 at Stengel Field beating Cerritos 9-5 ibn the 1 pm opener and then beat Pasadena 6-4 in the 6 pm nightcap.

Now 7-2 and riding a four game winning streak, the Vaqs benefited from timely hitting and solid pitching in both games as Aaron Trelaor had three hits in the opener including a two run homer and a run scoring double Alex Mills had two doubles of his own and Trent MacKinney and Nick Martin also had two hits each. Shohei Omeki struck out seven in his five innings as the starter and Chris Torres got the win in relief.

In the 9-5 win over Pasadena, Mills had two hits and two stolen bases with Sean Harris and Emiliano Gonzalez each getting two hits each. Tobias Plotkin got the start and struck out six and walked three in his 4 2/3 innings of work.

Glendale has just two games this week as they play at Chaffey Tuesday Feb. 11 at 2 pm and host Mt. San Antonio College Saturday Feb. 15 at noon at Stengel Field.
