Porterville drops Central Valley Conference match at Sequoias

After a 2-0 start to the Central Valley Conference schedule, the Porterville College women's volleyball team has hit some tough times. On Friday, the Pirates suffered a 3-0 loss at College of the Sequoias to fall to 2-4 in conference play.

PC dropped the match by scores of 25-10, 25-19, and 25-17.

The Pirates couldn't get much going offensively against the Giants. But sophomore Paige Borges had an efficient night in limited chances, as she hit .445 for the match totaling six kills on 11 attempts with just one error.

Victoria Dabney had four kills with seven digs while Madison Doty added four kills and two blocks. Jordan Castaneda led the Pirates with 14 assists and Keilani Regaspi had a team-high nine digs.

The Pirates will look to snap their losing streak on Wednesday (Oct. 6) when they travel to West Hills College Coalinga for a 6 p.m. CVC match.
