Corsairs Complete Comeback

Citrus College took the first two sets but couldn't overcome Santa Monica College's comeback attempt in a 3-2 loss (22-25, 21-25, 25-17, 25-21, 15-12).

The Owls drop to 8-11 on the year and 3-5 in the Western State Conference, while the Corsairs improve to 11-8, 6-3.

Delaney Tate led the Owls with 21 kills and 23 digs for a double-double. Faith Evaro followed with 13 kills, while Alexis Aguayo also finished with 23 digs. Maritza Sanchez dished out 47 assists on the night.

Citrus' best set came in the second as the Owls hit at a .370 attack percentage to grab a 25-21 set victory.

It put Citrus up 2-0 in the match, but Santa Monica came charging back to grab the next three sets for the match win.

The Owls return home for one last match in the Owls' Nest, hosting College of the Canyons on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
