It was a beautiful Friday in Rocklin as Sierra Beach Volleyball hosted conference rivals Delta and Feather River in Big 8 action. Sierra took the 5-0 win over Delta, and defeated Feather River 3-2.

The day started with the Wolverines facing the Mustangs, taking down Delta 5-0. The 5's match (Sierra pair Trent/Rader) was won by forfeit, while the 1's through 4's matches were decisive wins for Sierra. Williams/Taggart (Sierra 1's) won their match over Delta's 1's pairs LeBarre/Surnip 2-0 (21-12, 21-14). Sierra's 2's Platt/Clexton defeated Crowell/Day in 2, 21-9, 21-10. The 3's pair of Mulic/Macomber took down Delta's Mora/McKeon 21-13, 21-7, while Sierra's 4's pair of Black/Willis won their match over Delta's Sula/Sutton 22-20, 21-5.

In the second match of the day, Sierra took on Feather River in a thrilling battle, narrowly edging the Golden Eagles with a 3-2 victory. After the 2's through 5's played, the score was locked at 2 apiece, and the match would be decided by the final pair's match of the day, as Feather River's 1's and Sierra's 1's prepared to face off.

FRC's 5's (Hickel/A. Stevensen) and 4's (Ramierez/N. Stevensen) were victorious over Sierra's 5's (Tupy/Reed) and 4's (Black/Willis) 21-11, 21-10 and 21-14, 22-20 perspectively. Sierra's 3's pair of Mulic/Macomber took down Feather River's Saiers/Rowe 21-15, 25-23, followed by Sierra 2's Platt/Clexton who defeated FRC's Gee/Taylor pair 21-14, 21-15.

That set up the final, winner take all battle between the 1's, Sierra's Williams/Taggart verses Feather River's O'Reilly/Chainey. What it started off as a back and forth before Sierra found their footing and soundly took set 1 21-16. FRC battled till the end, keeping things close in set two before Sierra was able to squeeze out a a 22-20 set 2 win, and a 2-0 victory in the 1's to clinch the match 3-2.
