Compton, Calif. – Sophomore Craige Slaughter scored on a 66-yard fumble return in the third quarter of Saturday night's game but the Tartars (0-4) came up short 14-6 against Santa Monica (2-2). Slaughter also let the team in solo tackles with six total.
Sophomore Jordan Martinez led the rushing efforts with 30 yards, Freshman Hannibal Clark led the team in reception yards while Mathew Wells led with receptions received.
In addition to Slaughters defense contribution, freshman Avante Ross also tallied up six solo tackles. Both sophomores Rai'Von Taylor and Aaron Hayward collected one sack each.
The Tartars face off against the Chaffey Panthers (4-0) on Saturday November 5 for a 6 PM kick off.
