The Long Beach City College football team took down the Allan Hancock Bulldogs on Friday evening 31-17. With the conference win, the Vikings finish the season 4-5 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

The Vikings came onto the gridiron ready for action as freshman wide receiver Trenell Ridgley opened the game with a nine-yard touchdown pass from sophomore quarterback Derrach West, then the Vikings hit the PAT from freshman kicker Ryder Padilla to lead the Bulldogs 10-0.

West was phenomenal through out the game as he totaled 94 yard in the air, including two touchdown passes and had 54 yards on the ground.

Hancock attacked in the second quarter with two touchdowns to take the lead away from the Vikings 14-10. But then with one second left in the half, sophomore wide receiver Zack Leets ran one more in for the Vikings to take back the lead from the Bulldogs 17-41.

In the third quarter, the freshman defensive back Thaddeus Dixon blocked a Bulldog punt and scored a safety to add two more to the scoreboard. Dixon also tallied five tackles and had one breakup during the game.

In the fourth quarter, freshman wide receiver Jaylon Morgan caught an 11-yard pass from freshman quarterback Blaze McKibbin to extend the Vikings' lead 25-14. Allan Hancock made one last effort to tame the Vikings and scored a 50-yard field goal, but the Vikings weren't done yet. In the very last second of the game, freshman left back Drew Wilson smashed a 30-yard interception return to seal the 31-17 with and this chapter of the 2021 season.

The Vikings will return to the field Fall 2022.
