The ARC Beaver Softball team opened up on Saturday the season with a very impressive outing as they beat Shasta College 16-0 in 5 innings. The Beavers had Kameryn McLinn and Ashley Cortez both bring in 3 runs, Jacylnn Young, Hannah Petersburs, and Grace Rosebrook all bring in 2 runs, and had Alexis Watson, Taylor McKay, Bela Papini, Kaylee Barnes bring in 1 run. The Beavers also had Ashley Cortez pitch a shutout with 3 strikeouts, 2 hits, and a walk in the 5 innings. 

ARC also faced Cabrillo College in the 2nd game of a doubleheader Saturday, and beat them 5-4. ARC took a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning and extended it to 4-0 after a 2 run 3rd inning. Cabrillo would come back and score 2 runs in the 4th and 6th inning. ARC was then able to get the walk off run in the 7th to win the game. The Beavers were led offensively by runs from Watson, Sophia Petersburs, McKay, and Papini. McCay also got the win after pitching the entire game and ended up with 12 strikeouts, 7 hits, 4 runs, 2 walks.

The Beavers (2-0) next game is on February 8th at West Valley College (4-1).
