Women’s Water Polo Blows Through Rio Hondo 22-4

The Vikings water polo team won their second South Coast Conference game against the Rio Hondo College Roadrunners 22-4 on Wednesday afternoon. With the win, the Vikings hold a 7-1 overall record, and are undefeated in conference action with a 2-0 record.

Goalkeeper Danielle Sgontz had four saves against the Roadrunners, while Coryn Cavecche saved seven against the Roadrunners.

"I am very excited that Coach Chris Oeding put his trust in me to be the defensive leader of the team for this game," said Sgontz, about the conference win.

Rylie Guglielmotti tallied four goals with two assists, and one steal against the Roadrunners, and Katie Juarez and Sydney Brouwer each scored three for the Vikings.

The women's water polo team will return to the pool on Wednesday, Sept. 28 against Chaffey College in their third conference game at KLAC at 3:00 p.m.
