Baseball Extends Winning Streak to 11; Sweeps Series against Shasta

Oroville, Calif. - The Butte baseball team extended its winning streak to 11, completing the conference sweep of Shasta with 8-6 and 11-3 wins on Friday afternoon.

In game one, three Roadrunners earned multi-hit games led by sophomore Evan Stauch's pair of doubles and RBI. Freshman Jason Olsen went 2-for-3 with three RBI, and sophomore Patrick Barry went 2-for-4.

On the bump, freshman Hunter Timothy earned his third win of the season in a six-inning, five hit, five strikeout outing. Sophomore Kyle Kucich tallied his second save of the season, throwing three complete with five strikeouts.

In game two, four Butte players earned multi-hit games with sophomores Aidan Moore and Carson Seeman each going 3-for-4. Seeman and sophomore Connor Pawlowski both homered in the game with Barry going 2-for-4 with a game-high three RBI.

Sophomore Bryson Reif (3-0) tossed five complete on the hill, fanning eight. Sophomore Caleb Schaeffer threw three scoreless innings in relief with four strikeouts, while freshman Matt Deschaine wrapped things up, facing the minimum in his one inning pitched.

Butte (15-2, 3-0) continues GVC play by heading to Redwoods next, playing a doubleheader on Friday, Mar. 10 beginning at 12 p.m.
