A dizzying offensive display for the GCC Baseball Team had 12 of its 15 hits of the extra base variety that included seven home runs and five doubles, the pitching for the Vaqs was equally dominate as three GCC hurlers struck out 17 hitters and allowed just three hits in the 19-1 win Friday March 17. The Vaqs improved to 4-0 in the WSC South and 14-7 overall after its fourth straight victory.

Starter Boon Fay got the win to improve to 4-0 and struck out eight allowed the single run and two hits, Tobias Plotkin also struck out eight and allowed just a single hit in his four innings and Jameson Johnstone was flawless in his two innings of work. Five hitters had two hits each for the Vaqs with Joey Craig, Brandon Nguyen, Ricky Perez, Sam Grunberg and Darian Jenks pacing the offense with Nguyen, Grunberg and Jenks each having a home run and a double.

Poor weather forced both teams to reschedule games this week as GCC will play at West L.A. Saturday March 18 in a doubleheader with the first game starting at 11 am and the second game starting 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first gane.
