Oroville, Calif. - The Butte baseball team tallied 11 hits en route to a conference-opening 8-3 win over Shasta on Thursday afternoon.
Sophomore hurler Carson Seeman added another tally to the win column, improving to 3-0, behind a seven-inning outing with seven strikeouts and scattering four hits on the bump. Freshman Shaw Lee wrapped up the contest, allowing three hits and fanning four.
Offensively, sophomore Ryan McCarthy went 3-for-4 with a double, while sophomore Jake Agarwal posted a 2-for-3 performance with a double and a homer with a pair of RBi. Sophomore Evan Stauch made his one hit of the game count, belting a three-run bomb to score McCarthy and Agarwal in the first.
Butte (13-2, 1-0) wrap up the series against Shasta at home on Friday, Mar. 3 in a doubleheader beginning at 11 a.m.
