(Walnut, CA) In a non-conference matchup, host Mt. San Antonio College (8-2) handed Cypress College (4-6) a 7-1 defeat on Thursday, Feb. 17. The win is the second straight for the Mounties.

Top Mt. SAC hitters included Brent Cota (3-5, R, 2B), Will Bermudez (2-5, R, 3 RBI), Blake Borgogno (1-3, R, 2 RBI, 2B), and Elijah Pelayo (2-3, R).

Starting pitcher Michael Flores (3-1) earned the win for the Mounties, throwing five innings of shutout ball while striking out four.

Mt. SAC returns to action at Orange Coast College (7-4) on Saturday, Feb. 19, at 12 p.m. The Mounties will then start their South Coast Conference schedule on Tuesday, Feb. 22, at home against Pasadena City College (6-3) in the first of a three-game series.
