The SMC Men's Volleyball Team traveled last Wednesday, March 1st, 2023 to Santa Barbara to play the Vaqueros.

After a well-fought first set, the team opened up a big gap from the hosts and won the set 25-21. The second set was also very tight closer to the 20-point mark, and again the Corsairs managed to push strong to snatch that set as well 25-19. The 2-0 lead did not confuse the men as they went on the 3rd and strongest set, having a 20-13 lead, and finishing with 25-20.

The men impressed on the service line pushing Santa Barbara to play out of system, and were led on serve receive and defense by Libero Javier Castillo. OH Nate Davis had a solid night with 30 attempts on offense. MB Beikwaw Yankey was aggressive on the block and transition.

The men will host Long Beach City College, tonight, March 3rd, 2023 at 6:00 PM in the Corsair Pavilion.

Next week, the men will have one game only on Friday, March 10th, as they host El Camino College at 6:00 PM.
