Reedley Baseball Prepares For Final Stretch Of 2022

With only two games left in the regular season, the chances of reaching the Northern California regionals are slipping away for the Reedley College baseball team.
After winning four games last week, the Tigers dropped a 9-8 decision into second place Merced College Sunday afternoon. The loss left the Tigers a half-game behind third-place College of the Sequoias in the Central Valley Conference standings. The Tigers are 13-9 in conference play and 23-15 overall going into Thursday's 2 pm home game with first-place Fresno City College and Friday's 4 pm home contest with Taft College.
The Tigers were 90 feet away from tying Sunday's game at Merced after Leo Arrequin doubled and later advanced on a wild pitch. But a strikeout ended the game. Mike Rios and Justin Tiger hit solo home runs for Reedley.
Reedley came back from a 3-0 first-inning deficit in Saturday's 6-3 comeback win over the College of the Sequoias on Saturday afternoon in Reedley. Eddie Avalos threw four and two-thirds innings of shutout ball to get the win. Nilen People's drove in two runs for the winners
After winning the completion of a season of March 10 suspended game you a 20-12 count, Reedley came back and won the regular game by a score of 20-1 last Thursday in Porterville. Rios drove in three runs with a pair of doubles.
At Coalinga on April 19, the Tigers recorded a 6-2 win over West Hills. Orin Hirschkorn led a 13-hit attack with two doubles and a single.
